Services aimed at assisting grantees with data sharing, publishing, and protocol management:
- Vivli – a non-profit platform for secure, ethical sharing of clinical trial data to promote transparency and collaboration.
- Editage – provides editorial support to help researchers prepare manuscripts for publication. The Gates Foundation partners with Editage to offer free editorial support to grantees preparing research for publication. Learn More.

- PLOS – a nonprofit open access publishing organization. Through a partnership with PLOS, Gates-funded researchers can now publish in PLOS journals without paying article processing charges (APCs). Learn More.

Preprint Server & Review Services
These initiatives focus on the infrastructure and peer review of preprints:
- RR\ID and PREreview – preprint review services that support registered reports and community reviews
- VeriXiv –a verified preprint server, enabling the rapid availability of new research findings. VeriXiv supports researchers in complying with the Gates Foundation’s refreshed Open Access policy that requires all their funded research to be made available as a preprint from January 2025.
